Simple Turkey Chili
1 pound ground turkey
1 onion, chopped
2 cups water
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (16 ounce) canned kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 small can diced chilies
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
2 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
In large pot heat oil and cook turkey until evenly browned. Stir in onion until tender.
Pour in water. Mix in tomatoes, beans, chilies and garlic. Season with spices. Bring to boil, reduce heat, cover, simmer for 30 minutes.
Topped with some sharp cheddar here.
I’ll haven’t told my husband yet that I made it with turkey. He likes Spicey. He says it good! (And he’s fussy!)
